Dennis,
I am still playing ... my airbox is currently a PA special .. no "Y"
... no half moon behind the "Y" ... My PAJ2 is now a DJ170, (which is
somewhere between a MK157.5 and a MK160 .. still well below the stock
MK170 so I have plenty more room to lean it out) ... and I have taken
1/2 clip off of my needles, (2 clicks and a washer instead of 3 where
it used to be). Things are looking good ... I have no plug fluff and
are slightly dark to a nice tan depending on which side of the
insulator you are looking at ..... the pipes are clean .. you have to
rub firmly to get soot off on a paper towel .... I am used to seeing
things "change" a few days after making an adjustment so I guess I
will just watch and see ... If it holds .. then I want to go out and
pull a plug on an extended high RPM cruise to make sure the needles
are really OK ... but as far as the "quick twist" .. they certainly
seem to be OK right now ...... I can whap the throttle wide open at
2500 RPM in 5th gear and I get a nice steady pull ... and I can tell
when the Vboost is opening again ... This is a different ballgame for
low end behavior ... it is like riding a singer sewing machine ...
very responsive/precise throttle feel ...
