Phil,
Reasonable question. Basically, I think there's more carb tuning
expertise on this list than there is at PCW. As we've discussed before
offlist, although I think they're good machinists, and did a good job on
the TourMaster engine work, they seemed to have problems with the
tuning. They said that the difficulties were due to a combination of
the unfamiliar California carburetors and not being able to road test it
(because of the weather). I've asked them some questions, but didn't
get as good answers as I've gotten from TC, Paul, and others on this
list.
To their credit, they offered a carburetor swap at no charge; however, I
thought I'd take this route first. Besides, I'm learning a lot.
I know where you're coming from, but I think with the time they've spent
on your monster, they probably will have it pretty well tuned up. If
not, you know where to turn...
