My friends 85 Max regulator would work for a year or two then crap out, it
would put out about 12 to 12.5 volts. seems like the replacement units are
garbage ( i think they just get to hot and fry the output transistors ).
My 99 unit has a nice heat sink and seems to have heavier wires my buddy
thistle bought a rec/reg for a 99 and put it on his 85. everything's cool now,
we will see in a few years.
Just a thought??
