There are plenty of saddlebags that will fit. I use waterproof Ortliebs but
only for longer trips. If you're not carrying a passenger you can strap a
small bag on top of the rear seat.

There are some to choose from. Size and style varies. Take a look at some
bikes and decide what you would like. Many prefer the small flyscreen for
looks but though it does redirect some wind off your chest it's not as
comfortable the larger ones. Heres a pic of a bike with the flyscreen
