This is my first posting, so please bear with me if it ends up in the wrong
place.
I've got a Euro (no boost) Max that I bought new in France in '86 and
brought back here in '89. Shortly thereafter, she started shutting down
sporadically while cruising; first no throttle response, then exhaust
popping. You pull over, put her in neutral and she idles, but if you so
much as touch the accelerator she gags and dies and refuses to crank over
for the next five to ninety minutes. Then, she starts up as if nothing had
happened and runs on and on and on. In a word, she's starting to act just
like my ex-wife and it scares me. Please help !
PS: this is no joke, and I apologize to my ex for having mentioned her.
