Sat Tara,
Mike shouldn't apologize ... if anyone can make you scream its Mario
!! In reference to the Vboost/Stage 7 though ... it certainly does
look like they will run a little rich on the low end when the tubes
are open, (from past posts and resolutions), but shouldn't make you
start up actually smoking ... IMHO anyhow ... a little soot is no
biggie ......
Fuel tank vacuum ... yes .. I guess great minds think alike .. but I
fell off the chair when I saw the post ... thinking about John's
article that explained what a pain it was to identify ...... That
valve is a little weird anyhow .... and vents to the curly cue
retainer at the center of the bike ... I had a big "drip" come out of
that hose one time and it looked like oil !! I traced the hose back to
the gas tank and couldn't believe it ... it was like "fuel sludge" ...
so I pulled it off of there and gave it a gas bath ......
I am still screwing around with the carb stuff .... I was also trying
to finish one for a "cruiser" publication, (no .. no .. nothing
commercial ... just a club rag), and the material is going to be
almost identical .. only the pictures/sketches will be different .....
I started something like this almost a year ago and was using the
"Yamaha" service manual carburetor ... scanned it, cleaned it up ...
had nice colors for fuel, air and mixture and then thought better
about using their artwork, (re-vamped or otherwise), so now I just
have some basic "tube" drawings .. which will be better for posting
anyhow. The more generic it is the better .. it is easy to append bike
specific configuration differences, (since everyone with CV carbs have
the same problems anyhow ... you could become rich opening a "cruiser"
carb shop ... all you need for equipment is an air compressor, slide
washers, and a mixture screw drill ..). I don't think Paul cares right
now ... I will put something together and everyone can beat it up
first .. then we can ask him to link to it or whatever he wants to do
......
