I have had almost the same problem for 6 months but now my bike will not run
at all and is only firing on cylinder number three. I have concluded that
the problem is the 15 year old TCI unit. I had a friend disassemble the unit
and it was corroded inside. I have mail-ordered a TCI wholesale for $315
and expect it in this week. John at rockymtn sportmax said he can repair or
swap for about $150 unfortunately he was going out of town and we could not
arrange the transaction. I will let you know if this solves my problem.
Paul, 85 V-max. PS My friend who was going to analyse the swingarm blew up
his 99 buell over the weekend, 2nd time since bike week and has only been
drinking beer. Maybe in a couple weeks?
