Phil,
Sounds like you ended up running a much taller tire, (rolling
diameter), than stock ...if you are turning 3500 at 60 mph and they
retained the same primary gearing 87/47 on the crank snout/clutch
basket, (no reason they shouldn't have), and your front chain gear has
13 teeth ... then you are running a tire with a 14.25 inch rolling
diameter, (stock is 12.5). If you want to turn 3850 at 60 mph .. with
this tire, (14.25 rolling diameter), and a 13 tooth chain gear up
front then you will need a 43 tooth gear on the rear axle.
