While I am not disagreeing with the intent here, if would offer that full
throttle accelleration once in while after 600 miles is not a lack of
respect. The higher gas pressures help force the piston rings out against
the bore assisting in a proper bed in. Driving for a 1000 miles at a
constant part throttle, low rpm thinking that you are babying the engine is
far worse.
