Very briefly . I was in a drag race with my 1999 Vmax . I got so excited
that I forgot to shift :) . I went through the quarter mile in third
gear
forgetting to shift . I held the throttle wide open . When I looked at
the tach I was way over 11000 rpm . I reved the engine 'till it would
not flow any more and I can say that the rev limiter, if there is one,
on my bike is above 11000 .
I was impressed that the bike did not float its valves or brake up its
ignition . This has given me some thoughts pertaining to future mods to
the engine and fuel system .
