I take pride in maintaining my bike, but haven't been very good about
the unglamorous task of checking battery fluid levels. I recently noticed
some charging problems and decided it was time for a new battery as the
current one was about three years old. (I had also considered the host of
alternative solutions to low charging rates offered on the list.) When I
installed my new battery this morning, I found that my old battery had major
dry cells. The new battery corrected all of the problems.
Lesson learned -- don't skimp on checking all of the fluid levels even
the ones that are awkward and don't directly contribute to 1/4 mile ETs.
