Kraig,
Ha !! Then your bike is wired like mine ....... Yes that is a bummer
about the three brown leads at the fuse block ... one is the main feed
and the other two are fuse outputs .... one is the "SWITCH" fuse and
the other is for the "FAN" ....... a toughie ... you are probably
going to have to pull that guy out and turn him upside down to see
which is which ... or see if you can pickup the "SWITCH" feed up
around the horn/headlamp wiring jumble ......
I didn't feel "challenged" sufficiently enough to worry about getting
the instrument lamps back on the "SWITCH" fuse feed where they belong.
However ..... with my "switch" off, (same as pulling the "HEAD" fuse),
I still have a horn. Therefore the horn is running off the "brown"
"SWITCH" fuse feed like it is supposed too, (according to the
schematic).
The "HEAD" fuse feed is Red-Yellow. I am afraid you are going to have
to start pulling the "brown" leads open until you kill the instrument
and speedo lamps ... when you find the right one then you have to find
the brown chain that is actually being fed from the "SWITCH" fuse
....... This particular load distribution is not new for the "E" model
and up ... checking the wiring diagram for the original "N" models
reveals the same configuration .. as least in regard to the meter
lamps. I suspect this is a long standing wiring error ......... or a
long standing wiring "diagram" error ... IMHO .........
Anyhow ... good luck ... if you decide to accept this assignment ...
etc ... blah blah ...... will self destruct in 30 seconds ... blah
blah .. Come on Kraig ... if you fix this then I will know that it is
not your fault all of those F16s keep crashing in my "special" Vmax
test area.
