any suggestions on how much to shorten the spacer by ??
or how much sag should I have ??

You're too tight, 7\8" sag is not enough.  When I set my bike on the ground,
I get .875" static sag (no rider)  and 1.5" race sag (with rider)  However,
Progressive springs are firmer than the Race Tech springs I am running so
your difference between static sag and race sag will most likely be less.
Keep in mind that even mine should have more sag as well but with the front
end lowered (17" wheels) I can not lower any further.
