Fitted .85 Racetech springs and emulators last night.
Emulators at 2 turns with caliper measurement between washer and emulator body
at 1.070"
Oil level at 160mm down from top of forks with springs and emulator installed,
10W oil.( Instructions say fill and measure oil without springs, I however did
it as per Pauls video with springs in)
I've started with spacers at 10.5"
The results I have are: Fork free length (top of fork rubber slider seal to base
of triple clamp) is 9"
Put bike down level without rider, fork drop is 1.25"
With rider in normal riding position total sag is 1.75"
Only rode it for 5 minutes last night, forks feel slightly higher, goes over
bumps beautifully, I found myself looking for imperfections in the road and
enjoying them for the first time. Started pouring rain so coudn't test properly,
am going out now for test ride, any comments or suggestions would be
appreciated.
I know this is not the heavier oil some suggested or the 3 turns on the
emulators many call for but I'm starting soft because I care more about a
gentler ride.
P.S Paul's video was invaluable to a successful installation.
