Que Pasa ?
PCW told me they needed a different Harness than what is on a stock 85'
vmax. I bought this one off a 92' I think. I am mostly concerned with
color codes syncing up with what is in the book. I noticed that the Kill
switch that PCW installed doesn't work. Well since saturday that the
headlight is staying on. And the engine is still primed the fuel pump is
primed. Well I went ahead and disconnected the battery but the bike
didn't have a very good charge in it. Later at the track, it was really
really hot on consecutive passes so I shut it off and it wouldn't
restart. Anyhow I started tracing the wires that PCW ran from the kill
switch and it looks like it is running to the wrong colors combination.
I would assume that the kill switch should be wired to the stock engine
shut off switch and they have it running to something else according to
my analog book.
On another note, I couldn't launch my bike to save my ass. My first run
I tried a roll on acceleration and it just roasted my tire. My second
pass was I think my best 11.1 at 126mph but way way way too slow for
that altitude. My 0-60ft times were 1.99's almost every run and that
just won't cut it. I let Pat run it and he immediately ran a 1.83 on it
so now I KNOW that I need to figure out what is wrong with my technique.
Needless to say I am disappointed in the fact that I haven't figured it
out yet. I will get it figured out. Anyway Pat is letting me borrow his
Mickey thompson tire and 17 inch rim combo. I am going to put that on
tonite. I am also going to shoot for Wednesday back at the track for
more practice and to see if I can't get my MPH back up where it should
be. I also noticed that the inner porcelain inside my spark plugs was
white and I am thinking the thing is way tooo lean now . Ah well I am
going to start making one change at a time one of these
days........Incidently I have been riding a Hayabusa around for the past
couple of days. Amazing how stable the handle bars are compared to my
max. The torque is bizarre compared to my max. It feels alot slower
than my max but it would be right there with it at the end of a 1/4
mile.
Take care Phil
