I just tried my hand at polishing aluminum parts on the Max, using a hand
drill, 4" muslin pads on an arbor, with tripoli and then white rouge. I did
try following the white rouge with jewelers' rouge, but that seemed ot go
backwards in shine, oddly.
I started with the front nose piece, which covers the top of the headlight.
I must say I am really suprised at how easy and quickly the shine came out.
Time to do the scoops next.
My question is this - I've seen pictures of polished lower side covers, but
can the stock lower side covers be polished, or are they available somewhere
else? It seems like they are just stamped sheet metal. Anyone care to
offer me a clue on this one?
