Tom,
i can't answer for anyone but myself but, irode LOUD H-Ds for
30yrs without a helmet during which time i was sidswiped, t-boned,
rearended, simply driven off the road by bottle throwing red-necks, and just
droped it because i passed-out from too much fun. never hit my head on the
pavement once, though i did break various bones that would have been broke
anyway. am i basically deaf, YES, do i now ride with a helmet NO, i wear
plugs because i can no longer stand the wind. do i advocate not wearing
helmets,NO, especially if your conscience is chiding you, because prescience
can safe you from things that NO type of safety equipment will. besides, it
may be alittle late for you to start to learn signing!!
