Hello all. I have a 1998 V-Max (3,000 miles) with a K&N filter, shimmed
needles, air-fuel mixture needles @ 2 1/2 turns, Super Trapp slip-ons with
8-discs -- the bike ran a little lean on the bottom end with 12-discs, and
sounded like a B52. The bike runs very well with a slight tan color to the
plugs and also gets 40 MPG. The question I have is this: should I remove
the "Y" or drill 3 or 4 half-inch holes in the air-box? I'm looking to put
back the minor power loss at the bottom end after installing the Super
Trapps (no balance tube at the rear cylinders) -- it really screams while on
V-Boost though. Thanks.
