I just synchroed my carbs today.  A word of advice, be very light on the amount of 
pressure(downforce) you apply to the adjustment screws.  A slight pressure(downforce) 
will give you a false reading on the  guage.  This can lead to allot of frustration.  
Also let the bike warm up first before you start droking with the adjustments.   
Constantly "blip" the throttle to make sure rthe carbs have a true settle, BUT don't 
go over board with the power of the blip or you will have an engine full of mercury!  
Also place the guage hanging stright up and down in a location where you can 
confortably see it form both sides of the bike.  If you try to move it while the 
engine is running, and tilt the dame thing about 30 degreese, again an engine full of 
mercury.
