Hi,

Interesting problem. It appears that you're correct in your diagnosis of
airflow to the intake being disrupted by your leg position, since the
problem doesn't occur with the tank cover removed or legs back. The
Tourmaster places larger airflow demands on the system than a stock
displacement motor, so the stock configuration may be taxed by increased
demand.

In terms of too lean or too rich, if the above theory is correct, it
wouldn't be either. It would be the appropriate mixture - just not enough of
it to support combustion, sort of like putting your hand over the carb
opening. (although with a CV carb it may open the slide more due to creating
greater upstream vacuum.)
