Troy, I suggest you go to the Racetech Website and introduce your data ( including 
weight, type of riding, solo or in company and so on). their program will give you the 
result, including the right size for the spacers, but cutting in two the spacer as far 
as I know never works. Sometimes you even have to look for another piece since the 
delivered tube is not long enough for both forks. Finally I always try to remind  
others about what happened to me, EVEN THOUGH RACETECH corrected the problem since 
then, but just in case and so no one has the same problem, my new Max had bigger dia. 
fork tubes and springs, but I received the ones meant for the older smaller forks. The 
spring was dangling inside the tubes and the spacer was far too small in diameter. 
Just check the difference with the original ones, since it is very obvious.
