Troy,
You are setting the ride heigth of the bike not the spring weight .
Assemble the bike and measure what is called the static sag .
I use a simple method . With the front end off the ground wrap a tie
wrap around the slider tube & push it
down against the dust seal . With some help lower it down & gently get
on the bike . Do not bounce the bike . Get off the bike, jack it back
up, & measure the distance that the tie wrap has moved . It needs to be
between 1 & 1 1/2 inches . I use one inch because this
allows me to forget about stiction & future spring set .If the bike is
too high shorten the spacers & if it too low lengthen the spacers . If
the bike's front end is two stiff for your tastes after this set up you
need to go to a lighter spring
or if it is too soft you can go to a heaver spring . .
I think that10wt oil might be a little light for these springs
I think you are finding out is that there is no secret spacer length .
