Gas Tank

I need to drain my gas tank manual shows nothing about this or replacing it 
drain bolt looks like bitch to get to looking into the tanlk some crap around 
the drain bolt area what is the best fluid to flush with or can you ? If I 
spray oil light mist for storage would it harm the reserve unit in the bottom 
of tank? Thanks Howard..
