Well, for me, I have always been a huge fan of the 427 Shelby Cobra. I
mean you talk about attitude. The car looks like it is getting ready to eat
you in the parking lot. That tremendous mouth and two bug eyes. You turn
the key.... And pure music. @ 420 horses singing through two side pipes.
Who needs a stereo when you have that kind of sound!!! The car is
testosterone on four wheels. I vowed to my self that one day I would own one.

Several years went by and in 1985 one day while passing through Homa,
La.; I stopped at road side hamburger joint. A La. State Motor Cop showed
up. I lost my heart. The trooper bike for La in 85 was the legendary V-Max.
I saw those two F-15 Eagle style intakes and fell in love. A Cobra on two
wheels. Again I vowed to have one.

Again the years passed. Got a career, wife and two kids. We always buy
a new car for moma and the kids and I am left riding second hand bikes.
Finally moma broke down after her third new car and "allowed" me to purchase
a new bike. I went to Team Mister here in El Paso which sells everything but
Harley and there she was in all of her kevlar glory, a 99 Max. I persuaded
the sales man to allow me to take her for a ride. My first impression
through traffic was of a heavy lumbering machine. I was sorely disappointed.
I finally got her out onto the interstate and gave a full twist of the
throttle. At the RPM's climbed passed 6,500, my A$$ slid back in the seat
until it hit the gas filler flip cover, my head snapped back, I had a white
knuckle death grip on the handle bars, and I let out an audible explication
"HOLY FU** !!" As I stared up into heaven, locked in this position, I could
have sweared that I saw the hand of God reaching down and throwing the bike
forward. In my time in the Air Force I have flown in several top of the line
US fighters and none have give such a rush of acceleration as I was
experiencing!!

Back at the dealer, when I finally stopped shaking due to the adrenaline
rush, I signed the papers and took a brand spanking new 99 home. I have been
in inseparable love ever since.

Now this crazy coon-ass is trying to turbo the Max..... Cobra you are
just around the corner!!!
