Hey Thomas if you are talking about me and the break-in. It was a demo bike
I road. Mine was still in the create. I just dropped my bike off at the
dealer in Las Cruses, New Mexico. I am the guy with the oil drinking V-Max,
if any of you guys are new to the list. Upon preliminary inspection of the
plugs, the mechanic said that he can see aluminum deposits on the ceramic
insulator. He seems to think that Team Mister (the Yamaha dealer in El Paso)
dynoed the bike way to lean. He is going to jump into the motor on Monday to
be sure. They (Rio Yamaha of Las Cruses are a great dealer, the owner
himself is going to go to bat with Yamaha to see if they will extend the
warrantee coverage. If not, I am looking at $900 for the labor. If Yamaha
does not. He is going to try to get Team Mister to cover the new pistons and
rings. I will keep you guy's posted in case this ever happens to one of your
bikes.
