As long as your bike is running well with all its power, and no nasty things are found
in your filter and the compression readings are correct, (plugs and all), you will
really enjoy it when the bike comes to the 50.000 mile mark since then as far as I
understand you will find that oil consumption has dropped to normal figures. Your oil
ring in the pistons seems to remain collapsed and allows oil into the combustion
chamber, but I do not handle your figures, sorry I'm metric minded, so I don't really
know what a quart means. I do handle pints for I lived in England long enough and the
beer there is served in that way. if a quart (British measure) is as I imagine a quart
of a gallon, you are talking about 1.2 litres lost every 500 miles and that my friend
is quite a lot, not as bad as our racing bike, but even so it is time to visit the vet.

Keep us informed.
