Hi friends,
I installed those calipers two weeks ago, but
the weather was so rough I could not take my bike out.
Today I had the oportunity of riding the bike and
didn't think about it twice.
The feeling is really good taking into account that
I also installed Galfer lines, but that was before I removed the original
calipers.
Now with the R1 units the feeling when you grip the
brake lever is that of a much more solid braking system. nevertheless, since I'm
using the brakepads that came with the second hand calipers, the general feeling
is that this system does not brake as well as the well bedded in original
calipers and pads. I have to wait and let the 2000 mile worn pads to adjust to
the disks. I see no point in installing new pads, but I did hear someone
mentioning that other type of pads had better results. please inform me so I can
do so.
Right now I'm about to leave for Australia and I
plan on purchasing a second hand V-MAX to use while in that Country, but I do
not know where the best place is to grab hold of one. Whoever knows of a place
near Camberra, in Tumuc (70 miles from Camberra), between Sydney and Melbourne,
where I can get one please contact me ASAP.
Please contact me during this week
I will have to leave the techlist until I grab hold
of an E-mail address in Ausie land, but will inform you in time.
Best regards,
