Charles when you arrive in Sydney Airport as I assume you will to get to
Canberra and on to Tumut, pick up a copy of Australian Motorcycle Trader
(magazine size book). This is probably along with their competitor "Just
Motor Bikes" magazine, the best source for any make or model bike. There
is nearly always a few V-Maxes in either book. You should buy one in a
major city like Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane on the east coast. You
will be hard pressed to find one out of the way, but I suppose you never
know.
Buy these magazines at a large news stand at the Airport so you can look
through them while waiting for connecting flights or to be shuttled to
Hotels etc.
In relation to your R1 calipers, mine work best with EBC-HH pads for the
R1. A lot stronger stopping than with stock R1 pads or stock replacement
EBC's. I also have the Galfer hoses, they really made no noticeable
difference on my setup. I have the set that is exact replacement for
OEM, retaining the splitter under the headlight. I just prefer that
stock look.
Give me a call if you get to Melbourne. You should have come earlier,
the Phillip Island Grand Prix is on the end of this week down here, its
a nice 1.5 hour ride to the track. There are usually about 20,000 plus
crazy's on bikes that turn up.
My number here is (03)9571-4204 work or (03)9563-5678 home.
