Phil,
The rest of the stuff is coming .. the business with the shifting
point should have came out in the bundle I sent you with the air
density chart. If you aren't pulling any more it is because you are
shifting too soon and falling back so far in your RPM range where you
aren't making any horsepower or you are shifting too late and too far
into an RPM range where you aren't making any horsepower. Either way
.. you get to point A real fast and then you are spending too much
time in a area where you aren't accelerating, (staying near the peak
of your horsepower hump will give you maximum acceleration). That is
why I asked if you had gotten your mains too rich etc .. as this will
kill top end horsepower really fast etc ........

If you look at your runs .. you spend all of your 0-60' time in 1st
gear .. you finish up 1st gear from about 6K up and use all of 2nd
gear from 60-330' and you use all of 3rd gear going from 330-660 .. if
you are fast you are probably shifting into 4th as your 1/8 mile speed
is being recorded, (this starts 60' behind the 330 marker). Then you
spend the balance of the run in 4th gear trying to pickup more that 20
mph and do it in less than 4 seconds .. Us mortals usually will pick
up only 20-22mph in trap speed .. you were doing 24-26 etc ..... The
spreadsheet displays the time duration between each of the segments so
you can see where you lost your speed ... If you lost in all segments
then it is time to check the compression etc and your historic tuning
values ..... 30 runs a season used to be it ... and then it was time
to freshen up ......

Seeeeeee !!!!!!!!! This is why you should always record cold/hot
compression, vacuum, pull a good set of plugs with the valve
orientation marked on them as installed and put them in a drawer etc
etc .. when you are running good .... Soooooooooo .. that when things
aren't going so good you can see how things were when life was better
....... and you will be able to determine what has really changed,
(tsk .. tsk ..tsk ..).

Anyhow ........ I just saw a lockup clutch somewhere ... and I think
it was BBR .......

I don't know where the Ft Collins came from ??!? I guess I was
thinking "Cummings" / "Collins" etc .. Too late for a retraction ..
issue 4.3 went in the mail to the printer today.
