Not but maybe, but sure. for a start the R1 calipers have lost all or most
of its fluid, one drop out of the lines and there you have more air. Do you
remember wiping off some fluid from the calipers, hoses or the floor when
you finished the job? a through bleed is needed in your case. It is amazing
that they brake at all.

I used a vacuum pump to bleed my R1 calipers and had to fill the reservoir
about ten times before I was sure no bubbles where left in the system. My
brake lever had never been so stiff as it is now. Braking is not that good
yet for I had no time to change the pads and I'm using the original, but
since I'm leaving the bike without use till next spring I will not do
anything till then, when I will try and find the pads that  Sam Blumenstein
#795 and others have suggested, the EBC-HH
