Dracer, The only point to the fade out smooth routine is if you went out rich ... (smooth) ... your power is probably going to lunch sooner that it has to as the engine goes "over-rich" at high RPM .. etc ... , (I am sure your dyno guy has made his recommendations accordingly). As the engine gets up there .. there is less time to make use of what it is lighting off .. so it goes "over-rich" perfectly normal .. but that is the end of your useful power curve. By leaning out the mixture up there .. advancing you timing to light it sooner .. using cheaper gas that blows up faster etc .. are all ways to add a little extra life to the end of the power curve and will often result in a few more horsepower and a little higher trap speed at the track. I was looking at Don's dyno .. cause it was laying here and he goes out ragged .. and his horsepower curve is peaking at 9K .. with very little drop off at 9.5K not down at 8.5K or worse .. indicating that he is making the most of the end of that power curve ..... Terry's, (my), distorted view of tuning always forces me to believe if it goes out smooth I was leaving money on the table when I walked away and peaking too short ......... IMHO as always ... (I will put my flame suit on early tonight ...). Henry, Thanks .. it is good to be back and causing trouble again !! campbell ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: DYNO > the chart shows a really smooth run , every one was really impressed with > that ,i will post the chart tomorrow, iam very pleased with it. .............................................
