Bo,
The nipple at the front is normal .. some are open and some have a
drain hose attached. It is simply a drain for the airbox .. it
actually opens inside the filter area so you aren't really pulling
unfiltered air into the engine. The original arrangement has a larger
diameter nipple at the rear of the airbox, (about 3/8 inch), with a
hose that connects to the oil galley cover down in the valley of the
engine.
