I recently installed my UFO seat and am still enjoying the improvement over
the stocker. It's been great for trips under 100 miles or so. Today I gave
it a small endurance check for my 6 foot tall, 235 pound lard a$$ body.
For me, the seat only slightly extended the mileage for which I still felt
comfortable in the saddle. About half-way through the second tank
(somewhere around 160 miles), I began to feel fidgety and found that I was
raising on the pegs to adjust my position about every 10-12 miles. It was
a nice day in the upper 70's with very little traffic, so heat and
aggravation were not factors. I tried moving my feet around a bit: top of
the case guards, rear pegs. By the time I pulled in to refuel a second
time, I was looking forward to the stop (212 miles).
The seat is well crafted and is definitely superior to the OEM seat in
function and looks. I have heard that some members stated they felt
comfortable for longer periods in the RMS seat. Never tried one out so I
don't know. My tonnage may have affected my assessment of the UFO seat. I
still like it and will continue to use it (I still have my OEM seat intact),
but I am curious if there is a seat out there that I could make an 8 hour
trip with.
