Horsepower has nothing to do with the need for a frame brace.  It's
whether you like the frame flexing as you take a turn (and the more
lean angle, the more you notice the flex).

Now, if you have solid mounts you may not need the frame brace as
much as with stock mounts, but even the solid mounts don't turn
the engine into a stressed-member.  When I put the frame braces on
my 'Max, I was astounded at the difference they made.  And mine are
the clamp-on type, not even the weld-on type.
