It's because Kelly receives emails from the Tech List in "digest mode".
Rather than getting the individual emails as they are posted, multiple
emails are grouped together and sent periodically (not sure how often). If
you're in digest mode, it comes to you with the subject "V-Max V1 # XXXX".
When they hit "reply" it puts the digest subject in automatically. Folks
should really change it to what ever the subject was that they are replying
to but I assume folks sometimes forget.
Also, apparently the digest mode does not handle rich text (colored or fancy
type styles). That's why you hear folks griping every time someone sends an
email to the list in rich text. Paul even kicks people off the list for
sending in rich text!
Now for the life of me, I cannot figure out why anyone would want to receive
emails in digest form. You don't get the mail as it's sent, lots of
different subjects/emails are all grouped together, your blood pressure goes
up every time someone sends a rich text message, etc. Maybe someone can
explain this to me. Anyone?
