I am in favor of keeping raw strings 2-byte - I trust this is functionally
correct; and I do not think we will see a lot of space savings here (after
all, there is no more than one of each instances of those literals per
template literal in the code).
We can optimize this later if this becomes a problem - but yell if you see
issues I am overlooking.
