In our use cases, the effect of the optimization is negated by the fact
that we have to use hacks to achieve the desired behavior. The end result
in some cases will be that web apps run SLOWER, not faster.
The "massive optimizations" of which you speak will only help those who use
pure Arrays. It would be prudent to do a survey of the code on a few
hundred popular sites before assuming that the optimization would be
beneficial in the real world.
