This seems to be going nowhere as developers like myself are pointing to the precedent set by every other browser while Google is pointing to its allowed wiggle room in the written standard.

I feel that myself and others have made it clear that the supposed benefits gained from using this wiggle room is lost in practice as developers are having to write in hacks to make Chrome compliant with reality.

This begs the question of what Google is hoping to accomplish by keeping this practice. Speed is an illusion in this case. If your house is burning, are you going to put it out or claim its not a problem because your house was built to code?
