@21: I did a few tests using the interpolation method and k_sin.c and sinQ
from Apache's FastMath package

I just happened to use C for this, but based on my simple benchmarks, all
three methods are essentially equal in speed. k_sin.c is < 1ulp, FastMath
claims correctly rounded mostly, and the interpolation method I know is > 1
ulp.
If this holds for a V8 implementation, there's no reason to use the
interpolation method and we get improved accuracy too.
