The main problem with our approach is the overly simplistic argument
reduction (basically trying to do a "`rem` pi/2"). This is trivial
mathematically and hard to do right numerically, see e.g.
http://www.netlib.org/fdlibm/e_rem_pio2.c. And when we do this right, I'm
sure we don't need any kind of interpolation, just some standard series
expansion, e.g. http://www.netlib.org/fdlibm/k_sin.c.
