Thanks Matt.  That is very informative.  I am surprised nobody has
just implemented the PAC functions in pure javascript.  Then, when
trying to parse the PAC file, just include the javascript file before
so all the functions are resolved.  Is this possible?

@Stephan - I'll be sure to post a link to my implementation once I
manage to figure it out =)  Wish me luck!
