Jim,

A six gallon water heater will provide all the hot water you will need.  New A/Ss come equipped with 6 gallon heaters.  My '93 34' Excella has a 6 gallon LP water heater plus the electric rod.  When overnighting in RV parks, I rarely use the LP feature unless I want to shower very soon after hooking up in a park.  The gas burner seems to heat the tank more quickly.

I learned to take "Navy showers" years ago when water was in very short supply on a diesel submarine.  That method works well in an A/S.  If I wet down, turn off the water flow, shampoo and lather, then rinse off, I never use anywhere near the six gallon capacity.

What's the collective wisdom and experience on the 6 gal size vs. the 10 gal size and is there any reason to favor the Atwood over the Suburban models?
