I have a 1953 single axle Overlander with leaf springs (not TorkFlex).  From what I have read here, It may be
cheaper (and safer) just to replace the whole axle/break/spring assembly
rather than restore the original.

Has anyone done this on an older single axle, conventional spring, 12 inch
breakdrum unit?  If so, what brand of axle was used, was it an "off the
shelf" part, or custom fabricated?
