*spoiler*   I won't hold back then:  holding down the alt key and scrolling
with the mouse wheel changes the transparency / opacity of the
active window.

If you are trying to look at one app while you type in another, you
can do it without having to place them side-by-side... just make the
active window mostly transparent, and you can see what you need to
see.

I do like the alt-tabbing, but I don't have a windows key on my keyboard
to try the flower-tab.
