If you do any regular amount of computer maintenence, you can spend $35 on a screw kit. It comes with motherboard riser screws (both metal and plastic), mounting screws for any drive you might have, and heavy-duty fan mounting screws. It comes with a few dozen of each; well more than you can use in a short period of time. I picked up one last winter and I've used it in a number of random computer repairs my friends and family put me up to.

Here's a link to the kit I got:

I ordered some OEM internal hard drives and accounted for data and power cables, but neglected to consider hard drive mounting screws (doh!). So, I went searching for them both online and at local hardware stores. That turned out to be quite the wild goose chase. First of all, can someone confirm that the standard hard drive mounting screw size is 6-32 x .15"? Second, does anyone know where I can get these screws locally or online without paying more for shipping than for the product itself? I've tried Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace, Newegg, and StarTech.com (both Newegg and StarTech.com have them but the shipping is ridiculous and/or it's bundled with a bunch of other stuff I don't want). Alternatively, does anyone have sixteen of these they'd like to sell? I'm surprised there isn't a local computer shop that sells these sorts of accessories (or maybe there is and I just don't know about it).

Thanks,
Bradley
