Dear Warner,

Merry Christmas!

The usb ports are working under Intrepid. And I just discovered I don't have any serial ports! I guess they've gone the way of floppies.

I actually like serial ports and serial port adaptors because I know how to test them (short pins 2&3 with paperclip and run minicom :^)

You sync under Ibex with the serial port? Or with VBox?

The Sync stuff is built into Gnome...

I haven't run Outlook for years.
Neither have I!!!

I've very happily been using Palm Desktop and would like to keep using it or an equivalent if I can, but my attempts with Evolution and gPilot haven't worked, and I haven't been able to download kPilot successfully.

hmmm...

Sometimes I wonder why I go through all of this. I could just run MS stuff and stop fussing with it all, but I think the answer is that I don't like MS and I love puzzles. I want to solve this one.

welcome to my world...

With respect to Ubuntu--it's getting there. It's getting close to mainstream, but as long as it takes this kind of fussing it's going to remain a geek's thing. And maybe we should all wish it would. It's not worth the predators' time right now, but once it is, along will come the viruses and trojan horses, etc.

Architecture, Provenance, and Ten Thousand eyes on the code can make the bugs pretty shallow...

Regards,

Flint
