Esperanto estas tre facila kaj tre utila, almenaĆ se oni volas paroli al aliaj Esperantistoj...

Esperanto is pretty easy to learn, but truth be told it's mostly useful if you're looking to connect with others in the Esperanto community. Not a bad thing, and there are a lot of good people there, but it's not like there are uncounted millions of Esperantists across the world just waiting to talk to you. If only there were!

I've found Sanskrit quite intimidating actually, mainly for the sandhi issue (letters at end and beginning of words change depending on the letters in the words touching them, like Welsh mutations only a lot more complicated).

Welcome, Ruok!

Have the book and the interest, but not the time. I am
starting to learn ASL to talk with my now-5.5 m.o. son,
though.

I tried that in college. I felt guilty for never having studied a dead
language.

It started off OK, but went downhill quickly. Manged to pass the class
by totally cramming for the final and installing some Devanagari fonts
on the Professor's Mac.

Wow, your wife's name is Dave? What a coincidence! ;-)

Welcome aboard, Ruok!
