If you > need any help setting up source control system, let me know as I can > help there too > I am too -- I will admit I am strongest in PHP -- but depending on who gets involved I would love to do it whatever meets the requirements -- I think even RoR is supported on Dreamhost. I would be a little hesitant to develop on the Google Apps platform (due to vendor lockin -- even though it is free). By no means am I stuck on DH -- they just have a free-for-501c3's account, and are cheap otherwise. I would like this software to run on a <$10/m hosting account that is generally available, or on a shared account a member is likely to have. Perl, Python, RoR, PHP, Java are seemingly the FOSS for runners -- any others? I need to setup a meeting with the principals of the ORE to get their take on this -- in the past they have been vocal about "if we could make this perfect" -- so they might enjoy this adventure.
