so… the LISTSERV had trouble (see below) because it was delivering mail in such 
a way as to trigger spam filters (see URL in "last reported error") - and its 
response to this, is to delete my address from the list - and victim-blame me 😏

I'd call that an erroneous response; the disagreement is between anti-spam 
policies at the receiving mailserver, and the LISTSERV sending config.

having run large mailserver infrastructure before, I'm intimately familiar with 
the problem. it's a pain (caused by the _other_ jerks out there, who send real 
spam, and worse) - but it is the way of the email world now.

and unfortunately, a pain which will likely get worse over time, having an 
increasing negative impact on users of any infrastructure which doesn't adapt 
to changing conditions - frequently; yet another unfortunate game of 
whack-a-mole.
