I am in the Basic Piece selection, I "double click to add new image"
and I select it from a paint file, but when I select it no image shows
in the box that shows the pictures when I select the default pictures.
Could it be that it only accepts pictures of certain sizes and the pics
I am using are too big?

clear. Are you in 'Basic Piece' and Double clicking on the space where
it says 'Double-click to add new image'?

image in 'Basic Piece', or as a level in a 'Layer'. Adding an image to
a 'Basic Piece' should show up immediately. Adding it to a 'Layer' may
not show immediately, depending on the options you select.
